Specific Bodymind Skills Featured in Class
Mindfulness: a meditation technique, means paying attention in a particular way, in the present moment and without judgment. Through mindfulness you can learn to discriminate between bare pain and unnecessary suffering
Somatic Therapy: a system of healing derived from the field of trauma-recovery, teaches sensory awareness to increase your capacity for bodymind regulation and resiliency. You can learn to recognize states of arousal and consciously move towards states of calm, wholeness and strength.
Acupuncture: sessions will take place during the class using trauma reduction protocols. Non-needle alternative is available.
Qi Gong: Gentle Chinese movement therapy that uses cyclical motions to balance the body & mind.
Requirements: The only requirement is willingness to participate and practice the skills.
